The ESO hosts monthly lectures
and presentations on various topics related to Oman’s Environment. Lecture
topics in 2005 have included endangered species, whale and dolphin research,
conservation areas, and Oman’s landscape. These presentations are usually given
by ESO members who collectively have a great deal of expertise in these areas,
as well as non-member specialists in the field. They always include a great deal
of visual input, are open to the general public and offer the opportunity for
audience participation and discussion afterward.
Another series of smaller workshops aims to tackle some of the issues raised in
lectures. These hands-on sessions will involve researchers, policy makers,
members of the public and representatives of industry, who will sit down to
discuss possible solutions to difficult environmental problems.
